Getting accepted into law school is one thing, finshing law school, however, is a feat not many people can fully appreciate. Have you begun questioning your intelligence? Your competence? Have you ever doubted your decision in choosing law in the first place? Well, you're not alone. I have been there and so have others and if we can overcome the various hurdles planted by law school so can you.

As simple as this may seem, there is great power in believing that you can do something. Your belief is what ultimately drives you to success.

My last exam was Personal Injury. I failed this course three times. After the third time my belief in myself began fading. Finishing law school did not seem like a possibility anymore. Two weeks before my exam, in a moment of silence, I spoke life back again into my dream by writing down on the top of my notebook, "I will pass my exam, I will graduate law school, I will be called to the bar." The repetition of these few, simple sentences reignited the lost zeal that I had and pushed me past the mindset of defeat into one of motivation and determination. I did pass my exam and I did finish my legal course.

The obstacles that you will encounter, do not only come from law school. Life throws its own curveballs. During law school, I was dealing with an ill mother and also working. There were many times that I felt I will not cross the finish line and graduate. However, in the midst of doubt and through each trial, it is hope and faith that pushed me through.

Draw inspiration from Iyesha Champs. She is an Attorney at Law and mother of five from America. All the odds were stacked against Iyesha. She became a mother at nineteen. Her children's father was diagnosed with cancer. She was raising five children as a single mother during law school. She lost everything in a house fire and even contemplated suicide. But, she pressed on. In the midst of the obstacles, she fought through and now she completed her degree and is an Attorney at Law.

So dear fellow law student: though graduating may seem impossible and your reality may seem to be at odds with your dream, continue to believe in yourself. This belief and determination will eventually turn that dream into your reality. However, to see this, you simply cannot not give up.

Remember, to start all you need is an idea, a vision, a dream. To sustain and to finish what you need most is BELIEF

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"
